The Lodge

Misterios Lodge is a private, adults-focused lodge on Pico Island, Azores, designed for quiet, longer stays with the comfort and independence needed to truly settle in.

The lodge is particularly suited to guests staying for one to several months, who value privacy, routine, and a slower pace shaped by their surroundings.

The lodge

The lodge is a self-contained, single-level structure built from sustainable wood. It includes a separate bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a living area, and a fully equipped kitchen. Both the bedroom and living space are air conditioned, supporting comfort throughout the year.

The interior is designed to be simple and functional, prioritizing thermal and acoustic comfort, natural materials, and ease of use for longer stays. Laundry facilities are available on site, allowing guests to remain fully independent during their stay.

The surroundings

The lodge is set within a volcanic landscape characteristic of Pico Island, shaped by basalt terrain, Atlantic weather, and open horizons. The environment is quiet and lightly developed, contributing to a strong sense of separation from daily noise and activity.

A natural tidal pool and a seasonal café are reachable on foot in approximately five minutes. The area is accessed via a secondary road leading toward Porto das Baixas, with limited traffic and a predominantly local presence.

Privacy and context

The lodge is located on the same property as the main house, where we live, but functions as an independent and visually separated space. The lodge is screened by trees and oriented away from the main house.

The driveway is shared and passes nearby. We keep to ourselves and maintain a quiet environment, while remaining available for practical assistance if needed.

Living here

The lodge is designed to support everyday life at a slower, more deliberate pace, without imposing activities or expectations. It accommodates both short and extended stays, allowing guests to settle in comfortably.
